On the other hand, I had a SAAB 99 turbo, which ran like it was on 3 cylinders. I took it to the daeelr in Sacramento. They replaced most of the fuel system, fuel distributer etc (K-jet I think) which cost more than I'd paid for the car, and took a couple of weeks. On the way home I found the car ran no better than before. So it goes.

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking the cttalyaic converter would be the preferred problem as it is less expensive and easier to replace than the turbo. The used turbo I purchased is questionable as the turbine at first wouldn't turn and then somebody got it to spin freely. That makes me wonder if either something was blocking it and came loose or maybe it has a bad bearing. I'm a little hesitant to put in a suspect part especially when it takes several hours to do the job.Decisions.

Yes, but the problem with nonhtig personal is that you have already MADE it personal by the way you\'ve addressed the person. Too late to correct it. My approach keeps it from ever getting personal , yet, by making yourself and the other more human, in another sense it makes it personal in a good and rapport building way.

Great movie Swade, You got pretty much all the SAABs in the two rlergauity classes, with or without Tripmeter. The cars comes in order of the best competitors last. The SaabsUnited Historic rally Team had 3 cars among the 23 best. We placed 5th The Black 99 Turbo CombiCoupe that I drove, 12th The Blue 99 Turbo Sedan driven by Fredrik Nystrf6m-Andersson and lastly 23rd the White 99 Turbo CombiCoupe driven by Krister Sundman.-We ramp up production this fall making a 900 Turbo 5 door Service-Vehicle, a 99 Turbo Sedan Replica Stig Blomquist RAC 1979, and yet another 99 Turbo CombiCoupe.Seams like we produce more cars than Trollhe4ttan still We can not wait for Trollhe4ttan to catch up!-Out ultimate goal is to build 2 high-spec pure 99 TURBO rally cars and get the most well known and knowledged drivers in them, but to get that project running we would appreciate some more sponsors who love Saab and the Saab Rally History.a0

Regarding the colors:a0 The cara0manufacturers drive this (no pun inteednd) not the buyers.a0 Manufacturers convinced us that chrome isn't cool anymore (it's actually too expensive, not uncool) and over time, they've made spoilers desireable and then undesireable -same with flip-up headlights.a0 On colors -it's much easier production when you offer six colors instead of sixteen.a0 They've talked us into a few safe colors:a0black, white, silver, gray and one or two others -people would still by vibrant colors if a lot of vibrant colors were still available.a0 On cars:a0 If it's not too late for Saab to survive -they can succeed again with an entry level car in the U.S.a0 Make it very basic, but reliable/dependable.a0 Maybe a knock-off retro exercise of the 96 model shown in some of these photos.a0 Normally aspirated 4 cylinder engine think relibabilitya0and longevitya0instead of performance later a clean diesel.a0 Keep prices in the U.S. $19,000-$25,000 range.a0 Compete with Volkswagen instead of trying to compete with BMW.a0a0 Oh, and offer it in artic white, black, bright red metallic, dark blue metallic, silver -and at least two or three fun colors that might change year to year.a0 Start with safety orange, olive green and maybe hazelnut brown.a0a0a0a0

Funny thing happened on the way to minakg The Deal (sale, whatever). My driver's side door lock has been only working sometimes. Oh, this is nothing major, only a minor warranty repair. My 9-3 drives just fine, but I do need to be able to get repair parts sometime. So, while all the business stuff is going on how about doing something to keep the Saabs on the road running. My wife's backup business plan is for me to start calling myself 50%Saab .Just a thought.

Honestly, Suzuki and Mazda come to mind.a0 Suzuki is appealing to me -for the same resoan Saab is:a0 They seem to do their own thing withouta0the need for mass appeal -in other words, I think Suzuki designs their cars for a narrow market, unlike larger companies like Honda and Toyota, that want to be all things to all people.a0 Sometimes Suzuki hits and sometimes they miss, but I like their nerve.a0 As for Mazda -the emphasis is on the driver and again, some of their designs are polarizing and I find something verya0positive in that.a0 a0

It has already been stetad that any Saabs that get built in China via the (yet to be approved) joint venture between Saab, Youngman, and Pang Da would be for the Chinese market.a0 In the meantime, once production starts again, Pang Da has ordered a number of Saabs built in Trollhattan to sell in China.a0 That number would likely rise in the coming years.a0 So, there are no current plans to have any Saabs built in China to be sold in any of Saab's traditional markets.

Despite what I'd hope would be considerable sotladriiy within Saab, I can't help but feel that a certain resentment might build up that those who have been working for the whole of the past month on the future of Saab have not been paid, whereas those who have not for whatever reasons been doing-so, but who are perhaps are more unionised, have been paid on-time.I hope all those at Saab are able to pull together in this; perhaps the factory staff can organise some fundraisers for the non-factory staff?
